Woodbury School celebrates Ofsted success with ‘Outstanding’ rating in ‘Personal Development’

Woodbury School is celebrating a significant achievement following its recent Ofsted inspection, which praised the school for its strong sense of community, high expectations, and commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Led by Head Teacher Humayun Ahmed, the school was rated ‘Outstanding’ in Personal Development and ‘Good’ across all other key areas.

The Ofsted report commended the school’s clear vision and cohesive team culture, stating:

“The infectious ambition, energy and clarity of what the school’s strengths and next steps are, support it to do many things well across school life.”

Inspectors were particularly impressed with the strong relationships between staff and pupils. One standout comment highlighted the school’s unique atmosphere:

“Staff sing the praises of the difference that leaders make to how they can support the pupils safely and well. There is a common consensus of being ‘a family which feels like a school again, where pupils’ progress matters’.”

The physical environment was also recognised as a key strength:

“The buildings are well looked after and provide a safe, calming space for learning, play and relaxation to happen.”

In terms of behaviour and expectations, Ofsted praised the school’s ability to instil important life values in its pupils:

“Through the school’s high expectations for behaviour and learning, pupils learn to be respectful, stay safe and try their best.”

A fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, care, and dedication of the whole team at Woodbury School.
