We were delighted to welcome Mike Tapp, MP for Dover and Deal, to Brewood School on Friday.
Mike was warmly greeted by Amanda Cunningham, CEO of Horizon Care and Education Group, along with Andrew Kitterick, Managing Director of Education Services, and the school’s senior leadership team led by Alex Leng, Head Teacher of Brewood School.
During the visit, Mike had the opportunity to meet with staff and pupils, and even sample some freshly baked sausage rolls and cookies prepared by our food technology students!
One special moment was when Mike met a pupil who had just received some very exciting news that his placement for next year had been confirmed!
Mike then joined Amanda for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to open Mill Hill School, our brand-new upper school site at Brewood.
The visit sparked a wide-ranging and meaningful discussion about the provision at Brewood School, Horizon’s wider education offer, and our alternative education service, HEAL. We also explored our continued commitment to supporting more young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in and around Deal.
A heartfelt thank you to Mike for taking the time to visit. It was a hugely positive and inspiring day, and we’re truly grateful for his support in seeing the impact of our work first-hand.
