Great Howarth School receives heartwarming thank you from local Scouts HQ

Great Howarth School has received a heartwarming thank you letter from local Scouts HQ in Greater Manchester, after donating their old furniture following the refurbishment of the existing building.

This is a reflection of our commitment to sustainability and part of Horizon’s responsible business approach, ensuring we make a Bright Impact on the planet and reduce waste in landfills.

Liz Farr, County Lead Volunteer at Greater Manchester North Scout Council said:

“On behalf of the Greater Manchester North Scout Council, I am writing to thank you most sincerely for the donation of used kitchen equipment and furniture you have made to us during the current redevelopment of your school.

I can assure you this will be put to great use at our headquarters in Middleton.

We are continually developing the site for Scouting purposes and are keen to develop and outdoor kitchen area in the vicinity of the campfire. The donation of used kitchen units from your Horizon (Great Howarth) school will be so very useful in helping us to work towards our aspirations. Similarly, the items of furniture (chairs and a cupboard) will be very useful within our indoor rooms.

Thank you, again, to you and the Horizon Group Ltd. for supporting us within the voluntary sector.”

Great Howarth School looks forward to continuing its partnership with local organisations and promoting sustainable practices across everything we do.
