Supported Accommodation

Supported Accommodation In Oxford

Located in the heart of Oxfordshire, our office is based in the multicultural thriving area of East Oxford, close to the historic city centre, known for its beautiful architecture and the oldest university in the world. Oxford was the first founding project set up by Horizon Supported Accommodation in 2004. Since then the Oxford team has been working with our Local Authorities and several external partners to continually develop the project to meet emerging changes in the needs of young people.

The team accommodates and supports high-needs young people, and unaccompanied asylum seeking young people. Oxford delivers the Orientation Programme for all new arrival young people into the county of Oxfordshire. This is a structured programme that helps to equip young people with the skills to settle into the UK and understand its culture, values and laws. In addition, young people are orientated to the local area and taught skills such as using public transport and accessing services and education. Basic English is taught alongside this programme and we work in partnership with local refugee and asylum organisations to ensure young people’s holistic needs are met.

We provide accommodation in the geographical area of Oxford City and in and around our partner local authority of Cherwell District Council area. We are able to accommodate and support young people from other local authority areas too. We ensure the location of our properties is close to bus routes and local amenities to enable young people to engage in employment, education or training and to enable them to feel part of their local community.
