Grove Road School Welcomes Luke Taylor MP and Councillor Rob Beck

We had the pleasure of welcoming Luke Taylor, MP for Sutton and Cheam, and Cllr Rob Beck to Grove Road School on Friday.

Luke and Rob were warmly welcomed by Amanda Cunningham, CEO of Horizon Care and Education Group, alongside Andrew Kitterick, Managing Director of Education Services, and Mark Roessler, Head Teacher of Grove Road School.

During the visit, Luke and Rob met with several colleagues and pupils, who were eager to share their learning. One pupil was even baking some delicious chocolate brownies!

Luke was particularly impressed by the school’s calming co-regulation spaces and how pupils were actively using them to support their well-being.

The visit sparked a wide-ranging discussion about the recent opening of Grove Road School, Horizon’s wider education and alternative education provision called HEAL, and our commitment to supporting even more young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in and around Sutton.

A heartfelt thank you to Luke and Rob for your valuable time and support. It was a hugely positive visit, and we’re truly grateful for your time to see our school in action.
