From 25 October 2017, Key2 will become part of Horizon Care and Education Group.

We are pleased to announce that as from 25 October, Key2 will become part of Horizon Care & Education Group. This acquisition is supported by our PE house Stage Capital and Clydesdale Yorkshire Bank.

The collaborative approach will ensure that all young people within our care have more opportunities to fulfill their own achievements and aspirations.  Working with Key2 will enable us to offer the young people a clear pathway as they reach a transitional time in their lives.

The combination of both working together will allow us to offer local authorities a complete nationwide service to meet the young people’s needs and improve outcomes for them.

Key2 will operate as a distinct division within Horizon, led by Rachel Mundy as Director of Transitional Services. They are the UK’s leading independent provider of transitional services for 16 to 25-year olds with complex needs. It was established in 2004 to meet the needs of young people leaving local authority care and provides much needed support and access to quality housing.

In a joint statement, Key2 managing director Mark Hammond and Horizon chief executive Paul Callander said: “We’re delighted to announce that Key2 has become part of the Horizon Care and Education Group. This represents an exciting opportunity, which will enable us to extend our homes and services into new areas, and improve what we offer to the children and young people we’re here to help. We look forward to sharing more details about our future plans.”
