Bloomfield Football Match

On 22nd June 2017. Bloomfield school along with two members from the Dudley Port Annexe came together to play their first football match in 2 years.

Despite this length of time off from competitive football the team seemed to gel and quickly got into their stride with JD opening the scoring for Bloomfield after 10 minutes following a mazy run down the left wing and cross come shot ending up in the far corner. This two minutes after he cleared a shot off the line to keep Bloomfield level.

Bloomfield then began to flex their muscles and dominate possession as they continued pressure. This pressure then led to JT having his shirt pulled when running into the box and the referee awarding a penalty. JT took the penalty and if there were nerves it did not show as he slotted the penalty away no problem making it 2-0 to Bloomfield.

Half time

Bloomfield 2-0 Jane Lane

The 2nd half began with Jane Lane looking to prove a point and taking on shooting practice at the Bloomfield goal forcing JM into many outstanding saves however he was unable to prevent Jane Lane from scoring a powerful effort from the edge of the box to make it 1-2. This appeared make Bloomfield wake up and then got back into their stride forcing the Jane Lane goalkeeper into a string of fine saves. Quick as a flash JC on loan from the annexe used his strength and power to bully the Jane Lane defence not once but twice to pull Bloomfield into an unassailable 4-1 lead. There was time however for Jane to mount one last assault on the Bloomfield goal. However, they were no match for the cat like reflexes of JM and Bloomfield ran out 4-1 winners!
