Whatever your role, whether it be in residential childcare or in the education side of the business or working within the support centre, we will ensure that you receive high-quality accredited training and development, including professional qualifications, in order for you to offer the high quality of care provision that is a trademark of Horizon Care and Education.
In order to start you off on the right foot we will invite you to attend a company induction. The induction process runs over a period of two weeks and will give you the initial skills for your role. You will also meet other new staff that are also just starting their career with Horizon Care and Education, providing an ideal opportunity for you to network as early as possible.
Ofsted require Horizon Care and Education to have an adequately qualified and skilled workforce in both our schools and registered homes. To this end you will be given the opportunity to complete a professional qualification that will be provided free of charge through the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
These are vocational qualifications on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and are work-related qualifications. They are designed to allow you to learn in the workplace and assesses how the knowledge that you have gained in the early part of your career is put into practice, and give you the skills and competence that you will need in your role.
Some of the Learning and Development that you can expect as part of your career development includes;
- BILD accredited level 2 Positive Behavioural Support with Restrictive Physical Intervention
- Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Introduction and advanced levels of Safeguarding Vulnerable Children
- Teaching Assistant and Higher Level Teaching Assistant Award
- City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (QCF)
- City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (QCF)
- Working in a Therapeutic model of care
