NEW HOMES

January 2012:
We are pleased to announce the opening of our new home in Staffordshire: Keepers Cottage in Great Wyrley. Full information on this home will be published shortly.

The findings from the recent 2008 Safeguarding report state that there is not enough safe accommodation with appropriate support for young care leavers. Future Horizons works in association with Horizon Care to provide well-researched and suitable “move-on” supported accommodation which is tailored to the needs of young people who are 16+ and preparing for independent living.

Future Horizons properties are not on large estates in areas of high social deprivation; they are hand-picked to meet individual needs, offering realistic and sustainable living situations where each individual can develop their independence skills further and become integrated within the local community.

Horizon Care has a proven track record in providing successful outcomes for young people. Our model of care is underpinned by an infrastructure that gives us the ability to consider setting up new homes in specific areas, in response to demand.

The new Children and Young People’s Bill places a responsibility on local authorities to “provide sufficient and diverse” accommodation on a local or regional basis. We are available to discuss existing provision and projected needs and work in partnership with local authorities to meet their needs locally.
