Overview
Horizon Care Ltd is registered as an Umbrella body with the CRB Disclosure Service.  Our role is to provide an application and verification service to help organisations access information from the Criminal Records Bureau.

Due to our work in the care industry we are aware of the importance of a robust recruitment procedure and the frustrations this can cause. Our aim is to provide consistent advice and support in gaining CRB approval along with making the process a smooth and accessible experience. We are committed to sharing new information given by the CRB and providing adequate training and support in both the current system and the impending ISA Registration Service.

Process
Once you have decided to use Horizon Care ltd to process your CRB applications, we will issue you with a stock of our pre printed forms and guidance notes.

You should:

• Give the form to your applicant and ask them to fully complete all required sections.
• They must provide you with the relevant ID, which you should check and then record on the form.
• Send only the fully checked form, an SAE, and payment for the application to our Head Office.
• We will then check, sign and send the form to the CRB via Recorded Delivery.
• The CRB will return a completed Disclosure to the applicant and send a copy to us, which we will immediately forward to you.

We are also able to request ISA Adult First checks for those working with vulnerable adults. These are returned within 24 hours of the form being received by the CRB.

If the CRB encounter any delays or problems with the application we endeavour to deal with these as swiftly as possible; along with regularly tracking the application and where requested providing updates of its progress.

The CRB state:
ISA Adult First is a service exclusive to the health sector. Requests for ISA Adult First checks carry a strict criteria and are permissible only where it is necessary to take such action because of a real danger that staffing levels will fall below statutory obligations.

We are also flexible about the method of payment used:
